The Company’s Texas 1 and Austin Data Center (ADC) Facilities Meet Stringent Guidelines for Data Protection and Availability
AUSTIN, Texas – June 18, 2014 – Data Foundry, a leading provider of data center colocation, disaster recovery and managed services, today announced that its Texas 1 and ADC data centers have successfully completed its Service Organization Controls (SOC) 2 examination. The independent assessment certifies that Data Foundry meets the best practices for security and availability.
Created by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), SOC 2 is a mechanism for service organizations, including data center providers such as Data Foundry to report on the design and effectiveness of their security policies, communications, procedures and monitoring. This report is intended to meet the needs of a broad range of users that need to understand internal controls at a service organization. Data Foundry’s customers’ with their own compliance requirements, such as HIPAA and PCI DSS, may request and leverage the company’s SOC 2 Type II report to meet their own internal guidelines.
SOC 2 certification assures Data Foundry customers that the company has effective operational controls and meets audit levels for data protection and availability. The detailed audit, conducted by Holtzman Partners, includes a full assessment of:
- Security: Data centers are protected against unauthorized access (both physical and logical).
- Availability: Data centers are available for operation and use as committed or agreed.
“Data Foundry is dedicated to ensuring that its IT infrastructure meets the latest industry standards and best practices for security,” said Mark Noonan, Vice President of Sales at Data Foundry. “SOC 2 Certification gives our customers a higher level of confidence that their mission critical computing systems are protected.”
