Frontier Communications (NYSE:FTR, news, filings) announced today that it has invested more than $5.2 million since July 2010 to increase broadband availability and enhance network performance in Washington. As of March 31, 2011, an additional 14,100 households and businesses in 21 communities in Chelan, Clark, Douglas, Grant, Grays Harbor, Skagit, Snohomish, Spokane, Whatcom, Whitman and Yakima counties have broadband availability as a result of these investments.
In addition, the company has made major upgrades to create a state-of-the-art network that significantly increases capacity and enables customers to enjoy faster Internet speeds.

A trained technician will install a Frontier wireless router, connect the customer’s computer to the Internet and offer anyone interested basic instructions about how to access and navigate the web.
