Level 3 Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: LVLT) today announced it will provide the first-ever live streaming of an SXSW event – the Microsoft BizSpark Accelerator – on March 15-16. Using Level 3 Vyvx broadcast services and the Level 3 content delivery network (CDN), the company will stream the event for live and on-demand online viewing on the SXSW Web site.
Starting the morning of March 15, Level 3 will take the feed from the Accelerator event at the Hilton Austin Downtown, deliver the content over the Level 3 CDN and stream the event using Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Smooth Streaming and Microsoft Silverlight.
