AT&T Connects the GALE Smart Portable Health Center Bringing Information, Caregivers and Suppliers into the First Aid Kit
In an emergency, it’s always good to have first-aid supplies. But you can’t always guarantee medical know-how. AT&T* and 19Labs (www.19labs.com) are giving first aid kits a technological makeover with the GALE Smart Portable Health Center. AT&T will provide connectivity to the device, which will enable 19Labs to provide customers with interactive guides and a direct connection to emergency services, medical professionals and loved ones.
In addition to bandages and other supplies, the GALE Smart Portable Health Center features:
Interactive First Aid Guides: Instructions for common first aid and emergency procedures.
Video and Voice Calls: Consult with medical professionals over a video call, allowing natural, informative interaction with the medical professional.
Health 2.0 Sensors: Charge, store and operate connected medical devices such as a pulse oximeter, infrared thermometer or vital monitoring patches.
SmartCall Button: Immediately contact family members, medical professionals and caregivers with a press of a button.
Instant Restock: Order refills or new supplies with a single touch. After an incident if you need to restock anything from bandages to sterile pads, moist burn pads or ice packs, restocking is a single touch away.
“You can’t always predict when or why you are going to need a first aid kit, but having one on hand brings you some peace of mind. GALE brings the first aid kit into the 21st century. Technology not only provides the supplies to treat injuries, it also lets you access medical know-how and emergency services in the moment,” said Chris Penrose, senior vice president, Internet of Things, AT&T.
“19Labs is bringing together the best innovations in Digital Health into one organized place at home or the office,” said Ram Fish, founder and CEO at 19Labs. “There are amazing transformative technologies being developed for sensing, servicing and improving health. But from an everyday consumer perspective, there remains a fundamental need for a simple, trusted experience that brings together those innovations and capabilities traditionally found at a physical clinic: combining the best supplies, medical know-how and technologies into a unified experience. Smart portable health centers are the future of remote health care.”
The GALE Smart Portable Health Center will be available this fall. Find more information at www.19labs.com, Twitter @19_Labs.
