AUSTIN, TX – OnRamp, a high security and hybrid hosting provider with data center facilities in Texas and North Carolina, announced today the publication of a new customer case study featuring Kinesis Survey Technologies LLC (Kinesis). The case study details the reasons why Kinesis chose to move their colocated environment to OnRamp’s Austin I Data Center and how OnRamp’s focus on data privacy, security and compliance solidified the relationship.
Prior to working with OnRamp, Kinesis, an Austin-based SaaS provider that offers a device-responsive survey and panel management product suite for mobile and desktop-based market research, maintained a colocation environment in Dallas, Texas. Displaced from their equipment, and with little support from the company’s previous provider, Kinesis began to evaluate the Austin data center market in search of a new colocation provider that was closer to home and had the ability to deliver support that went beyond what was typical of most colocation providers. In addition to delivering the highest levels of redundancy, reliability and uptime to support their customers’ mission-critical operations, OnRamp’s experience offering a full suite of data center services including private clouds, cloud delivered services and hybrid hosting solutions made it a perfect fit to address Kinesis’ IT hosting needs.
“Initially, it was OnRamp’s customized approach to delivering services that made it appealing to our business,” stated Kinesis Chief Technology Officer, Juha Vehnia. “In addition to saving our IT staff the time and effort of traveling to and from our former colocation site in Dallas just to perform simple maintenance related tasks, we have relieved our team of these basic functions almost altogether by working with OnRamp. Now, if we require in-rack or hands-on assistance, we can rely on OnRamp to act as an extension of our IT department.”
In addition to meeting Kinesis’ colocation needs, it was OnRamp’s ability to provide the most stringent physical and logical security measures in compliance with various regulatory requirements regarding the protection of sensitive data, in the healthcare and financial services sectors, that has contributed to Kinesis’ long term success. “OnRamp’s ability to demonstrate the steps they’ve taken to secure our customers’ data continues to be of great significance for our business,” said Vehnia. “Outside of what OnRamp does from a physical security standpoint, having developed their own security policies and procedures, and having been audited themselves for such industry-specific requirements as SSAE 16 SOC II, provides great assurance for the companies we work with that security is a primary focus.”
