Company recognized for its Savvis Symphony VPDC cloud product
ST. LOUIS, September 15, 2010 – Savvis, Inc. (NASDAQ: SVVS), a global leader in cloud infrastructure and hosted IT solutions for enterprises, today announced that it made this year’s InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation’s most innovative users of business technology. The 2010 list was revealed last night at an awards ceremony at the InformationWeek 500 Conference.
Savvis received the honor for its enterprise-class Savvis Symphony Virtual Private Data Center (VPDC), a multi-tenant, public cloud infrastructure providing complete virtual private data centers, multi-tiered security and quality of service levels. Savvis Symphony VPDC launched in June.
“This award helps validate what we’ve felt about the cloud market all along: That Savvis fills the previously unmet gap between the cloud needs of enterprises and the cloud computing offerings of mass market vendors,” said Bryan Doerr, chief technology officer at Savvis.
“Not all clouds are the same,” Doerr said. “Many businesses, especially enterprises, should take time to educate themselves about various vendor and internal options before making a move to the cloud.”

“For 22 years, the InformationWeek 500 has honored the most innovative users of business technology,” said Rob Preston, InformationWeek editor in chief. “As we start to emerge from the worst recession in decades, the IT focus is now on driving growth – new sources of revenue, new relationships with customers, even new business models. This year’s ranking placed special emphasis on those companies and business technology executives leading the charge.”
InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation’s most innovative users of information technology with its annual 500 listing and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America’s best-known companies. Top winners have included: CME Group, Conway, Hilton Hotels and Unum. The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings as it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
