Up to this point, workers had to record data, time tickets, notes and other project information on paper forms, some of which then had to be re-recorded by administrative staff at headquarters in DeKalb, Ill.
“We recently got new software and the timing was perfect to purchase several Samsung Galaxy Notebooks, tablets, iPads and Kyocera Torques from (Chicago-area account executive) Brian Jackson at Sprint,” Wheeler said. “Our crew couldn’t be more thrilled. We’ll soon be done with testing our new devices and we’re clearly seeing a huge cost and time savings and there are far fewer recording errors.”
ENCAP has been stabilizing shorelines, restoring riverbanks and prairies and performing maintenance in natural areas in and near Chicago for more than 40 years. The company teams with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, forest preserve districts, municipalities and private land owners on land restoration jobs that require tight budgets and flawless execution. Today it has 12 full-time staff members and about 60 hourly employees.
