TeliaSonera International Carrier announced today that it has expanded its global managed hosting and colocation capabilities at its Frankfurt data center. In order to meet the cutting-edge requirements of content and application providers, the Frankfurt facility has been built-out to enable delivery of high-density Tier 3 level services from this central European hub.
The new facility provides customers with solutions tailored to meet their requirements and apart from ensuring good scalability in line with business growth, excellent connectivity to the highly reliable TeliaSonera International Carrier global IP network is guaranteed. In effect, this means that 500 million end-users in 27 countries are less than 30 milliseconds away.
Simon Vye, Regional Director for Western Europe for TeliaSonera International Carrier says “Content and application providers can face challenges with the reliability and growth of critical applications that are not closely situated to the network core. Customers benefit from using TeliaSonera International Carrier managed data centers because we offer direct connectivity to our infrastructure, which can enhance business application reliability and, in turn, will enable these businesses to expand more rapidly.”
With over 400 Operators and Service Providers already present on the Frankfurt campus, customers are effectively located at the heart of the European internet. The site is also a natural intersection point for Eastern European, Balkan and Western European networks.
The facility features high-density power cabinets and suites, multi-layer security with 24 x 7 remote hands. The Tier 3 design guarantees a redundant supply of all power and cooling. It is designed for high power efficiency with a PUE down to 1.3. The data center is carrier-neutral and provides the opportunity to interconnect with 3rd parties.
The Frankfurt facility grants direct access to 87 percent of eyeball networks across Europe and represents the latest step in the global expansion of TeliaSonera International Carrier’s global data center footprint. The new Frankfurt site augments existing European locations in London, Paris, Stockholm and additional sites in 12 European countries and the USA.
