SÃO PAULO, Brazil, February 1, 2012 – Cisco and Intelbras today announced their collaboration to serve the growing Internet Protocol telephony market in Brazil. The companies are working together to help small and medium-sized businesses in Brazil increase collaboration by utilizing the recently announced Cisco® Unified Communications Manager Business Edition 3000 and the licensing of Cisco Unified Communications technology for selected Intelbras IP phones and gateways.
Cisco and Intelbras will make the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition 3000 available through Intelbras’ 10,000-plus channel partners in Brazil. Medium-sized businesses – those up to 300 users – would be able to enjoy the benefits of a cost-effective Unified Communications system with professional features that can support future growth.
The Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition 3000 integrates voice, video, mobility, messaging, conferencing and voice gateway services on a single purpose-built appliance. Additionally, the system is simple to set up, manage and use, helping to lower total cost of ownership and providing a smooth transition from traditional telephony systems to unified communications.
The licensing of the Cisco Unified Communications technology for selected IP phones and gateways to Intelbras will help enhance the features, functionality and user experience, with the objective of opening the door for more companies to use these solutions in Brazil. In addition, the integration of Intelbras IP phones and gateways with Cisco Unified Communications technology will offer a set of new capabilities for ease of use and management. The Cisco BE 3000 and the Cisco Intelbras IP phones and gateways are scheduled to be available in April 2012.
Cisco and Intelbras are confident their collaboration will speed the market adoption of IP solutions in the small and medium-size business market in Brazil by integrating products with high technology and incorporating Intelbras expertise in the Brazilian communications market.
“This cooperation with Intelbras represents a big step forward for our presence in the Brazilian market. We are expanding Cisco’s offerings to small and medium-sized businesses in Brazil with innovative approaches”, said Rodrigo Abreu, CEO of Cisco in Brazil.
“The integration of Cisco technology into the Intelbras IP phones and gateways is the start of a solid cooperative effort to bring innovations into the local market, including those that involve IT expertise, engineering, and research and development”, said Altair Silvestri, CEO of Intelbras.
