São Paulo, November 28, 2011 – Cisco announced today that through its partner model, it is bringing to the Brazilian market, the Cisco® Scansafe Cloud Web Security solution, for security as a service. ScanSafe helps ensure high performance and integrity when customers access a network or the Internet with any device, anytime and anywhere. The new service combines the best security for Web browsing with the facilities and flexibility that a cloud computing architecture can offer.
Suitable for businesses of every size and in any industry, the solution meets the new corporate IT demands to ensure mobility, flexibility and security when a device accesses the corporate network. With ScanSafe, mobile devices can browse the Web without the need to first gain access to a corporate central site, and without the need to install security solutions on those devices. This is enabled through the devices’ direct access to Web page searching services and the content analysis, antivirus and antimalware of the Cisco security-as-a-service solution. The access profile is based on the policy of each company.

In addition, the adoption model of software as a service enables all aspects of scalability, reliability, security and maintenance to be managed by the client. The control and management of the service are done through customized and unique portals for each company, helping to ensure high-level reports and information on the users’ traffic profiles. The ScanSafe solution can also be integrated into Cisco Integrated Services Routers. Thus, all users who are on a branch, for example, can use this security tool by accessing Cisco ScanSafe directly via the router.
ScanSafe is available in Brazil through Cisco’s channel and distribution partners.
