Company hopes to hire up to 250 new employees; Exclusive invitation-only open house May 11
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (BUSINESS WIRE), May 04, 2011 – Sprint (NYSE:S, news, filings) is preparing to hire as many as 250 employees for positions in its Oklahoma City Call Center, which handles technical support calls for customers all across the United States. As the Oklahoma City unemployment rate of 6.2 percent continues to improve, Sprint’s job openings come at a time when the area still needs job growth to further economic recovery.
Sprint will hold an exclusive invitation-only open house at the call center on Wednesday, May 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The address is 8525 Silver Crossing in Oklahoma City. In order to receive the special invitation, potential candidates are asked to visit www.sprint.com/callcenterjobs. When on the web page click on Oklahoma City, OK and then follow the process to apply. Sprint’s recruiting team will review each candidate’s information and send special invitations to those who qualify.
Once on-site, job-seekers will meet with Sprint representatives for interviews and to learn more about the positions. Candidates offered positions will receive competitive salaries and benefits, including medical, dental, 401(k), monthly performance bonuses, and participation in Sprint’s employee wireless phone program.
“These positions are a great opportunity for people looking to get back into the workforce and who also have a strong desire and passion to provide great service and technical support to wireless customers,” said Craig Sherry, Center Director for the OKC Call Center. “Sprint has been receiving a lot of independent, third-party recognition recently for customer satisfaction. One of those accolades came from a prominent organization, which noted that Sprint was among 40 companies delivering customer service excellence.”
“We’re looking for call center agents who have a strong desire to continue on our mission of delivering the best service possible to our customers,” Sherry adds.
Since its opening in 1999, Sprint’s OKC call center and employees have been active in the Oklahoma City community, supporting the OKC United Way and conducting annual food drives and providing meals to those in need in the OKC area. The center’s employees are also participating in the 2011 Get Fit Challenge, a nationwide corporate challenge to promote healthy lifestyles.
