CenturyLink’s colocation services in its Colombia, Peru, Chile and Argentina data centers achieve PCI DSS Report of Compliance

Data centers can prevent, detect and respond to latest security threats

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, June 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Global communications and IT provider CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE:CTL, news, filings) achieved the Report of Compliance with applicable portions of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) version 3.2 for colocation services provided in its Colombia XV-Bogotá, Suba and Cali (Colombia), Lima (Perú), Santiago (Chile) and Buenos Aires (Argentina) data centers.

PCI DSS Version 3.2 Key Facts:

  • The PCI was established by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB and Discover Card for organizations that house, process and transmit credit card data.
  • The process takes into account feedback from more than 700 participating PCI Council organizations as well as reports on data breach findings.
  • The new version is used by businesses around the world to safeguard payment data before, during and after a purchase is made.
  • The update to the standards is part of a regular process for ensuring the PCI DSS addresses current challenges and threats.
  • In 2017, colocation services at CenturyLink´s three Brazilian data centers also met all data security standards outlined in requirements 9, 11.1 and 12 of PCI DSS version 3.2.
