Nancy Phillips, the CEO of hybrid IT solutions provider ViaWest, has won a major award. ViaWest, which has headquarters in Greenwood Village, Colorado, United States, was established in 1999. The company offers a broad spectrum of services including colocation, managed services, hybrid cloud, and Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS). Ms. Phillips has been awarded the Ernst & Young (EY) Entrepreneur of the Year award.
The EY Entrepreneur of the Year award is a global competition with a focus on rewarding entrepreneurship. Selected by a panel of independent judges, the award is often given to multiple recipients on an annual basis, with around 400 recipients receiving the award annually. It covers a range of business areas including retail and consumer products, technology, energy, and chemical and mining to name a few. A global award is also announced on an annual basis. Nancy Phillips was winner of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 Award in the Technology Services category of the Mountain Desert Region awards.
Ms. Phillips has been in the telecommunications and infrastructure industry for over three decades and co-founded ViaWest in 1999. “I’m humbled to be named an Entrepreneur of the Year, which would not have been possible without my team at ViaWest, all of whom are equally passionate about helping our clients succeed and enriching the communities around them,” she explained. “I’m proud to accept this award on behalf of everyone at ViaWest and honored to be alongside the many other admirable and innovative entrepreneurs making the Mountain Desert Region a great place to work and live.”
