Staten Island expansion serves borough while providing diverse bypass around Manhattan, ideal for latency-sensitive applications and route diversity

The expansion also creates a new, shorter path around Manhattan from New Jersey to points north and east of New York, perfect for businesses wanting to reduce latency along this route or those needing geographic diversity.
The bypass route offered by the expansion is a more direct route between Brooklyn and New Jersey, avoiding Manhattan entirely. For landing stations on Long Island, services can be routed more directly, and with lower latency, to data centers in central New Jersey and areas beyond. This path also offers valuable latency savings, as well as geographic diversity, for services running along the east coast that do not need a hop in New York City.
