TelecityGroup, a leading provider of data centres, has today announced the opening of Helsinki 6, bringing online new data centre capacity in Helsinki, Finland. The new customer capacity in Helsinki – one of Europe’s fastest-emerging tech hubs – has been opened as part of TelecityGroup’s ongoing capacity expansion programme across Europe.
Sami Holopainen, General Manager, TelecityGroup Finland, comments: “Demand for high quality data centres continue to grow. We see that, as well as an increasing interest in cloud services generally, there is an outsourcing trend amongst large corporations headquartered in Finland. The availability of connectivity options such as the TelecityGroup Cloud-IX solution, a service which enables customers to access multiple cloud services, toolsets and solutions through a single, dedicated, secure connection, is also a factor in driving data centre capacity demand.”
Since moving into the Finnish market in 2012 TelecityGroup is an established part of the data centre landscape and continues to bring online new customer capacity to support booming domestic and international demand for connected data centre services in Finland. A pioneer in mobile technology, Helsinki is now one of Europe’s fastest-growing hubs for young digital companies, with thriving gaming, software development, wireless telecommunications, e-services and system integration sectors. The new facility, TelecityGroup’s sixth in Helsinki, will be built out in phases based on customer demand for data centre capacity from Finland’s vibrant digital sector.
