Tower Cloud Announces 1,300 Mile Network Expansion to Serve Fiber-to-the-Tower for Mobile Carriers and High Speed Network Connectivity Services for Carriers and Enterprises in Florida

New mobile carrier deal drives Tower Cloud to extend its fiber infrastructure by 25 percent, covering 56 North and Central Florida Municipalities

LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–At the CTIA Super Mobility 2015 Tower & Small Cell Summit this week, Tower Cloud announced that the company has signed a new contract with one of the top four mobile carriers that will add more than 1,300 miles of dark fiber to serve wireless towers. With this contract, Tower Cloud becomes one of the largest wireless backhaul and high-speed networking providers in the Southeastern United States.

Tower Cloud, a southeast based Wireless Infrastructure Specialist, builds high-capacity broadband transport networks providing the highest quality lit Ethernet backhaul services and dark fiber solutions for mobile carriers throughout the Southeast. With this latest contract, Tower Cloud will expand to over 6,800 route miles of fiber installed. The network expansion includes more than 150,000 fiber miles serving mobile carriers, carriers, enterprises and data centers throughout the region. With this new contract, Tower Cloud now offers the most expansive dark fiber infrastructure in north central Florida, spanning 56 cities including the 10 largest metropolitan areas.

“Florida is a booming market, with growing demand for a more robust fiber infrastructure to support mobile expansion,” said Ron Mudry, Founder and CEO for Tower Cloud. “This latest carrier agreement will allow us to expand our dark fiber network to offer customers state-of-the-art connectivity with the capacity to grow with their needs. The high-speed fiber infrastructure will serve as a foundation for bandwidth-intensive services throughout the region, including increased macro and small cell initiatives by the mobile community, and broadband capacity and connectivity to serve national, regional, local carriers, enterprises and communities.”

Tower Cloud plans to expand its dark fiber infrastructure into many major metropolitan areas in the region, including Orlando, Jacksonville, Palm Coast, Daytona Beach, Melbourne and Ocala. Plans include providing dark fiber to service major data centers such as CXP, Peak 10 and tw telecom in Jacksonville, as well as military installations such as the Jax Naval Air Station, the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Patrick Air Force Base.

In addition to wireless backhaul services for mobile carriers, Tower Cloud is expanding its private enterprise infrastructure support through the company’s new Ethernet Private Line Services. The new dark fiber expansion will also include more connections to regional POP’s and data centers, as well as backhaul support and more capacity for wireless towers.

“Our success comes from proximity as well as capacity,” Mudry added. “We have made sure that our expanding fiber infrastructure is strategically placed to deliver optimal value to our customers and prospective customers. Our mission is to provide the most accessible and reliable fiber infrastructure throughout the Southeast.”

Ron Mudry, founder and CEO of Tower Cloud, will be on hand at the Tower & Small Cell Summit to participate in a Keynote Executive Roundtable – State of the Wireless Ecosystem & Small Cell Forecast 2015-16.
