Time Warner Cable Business Class Internet Connects Harmony Public Schools

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–

Time Warner Cable Business Class (TWCBC) today announced the company will provide fiber Internet and Managed Security services to 46 Harmony Public Schools campuses along with the HPS Central Office, all located in Texas. The Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), providing 1 Gbps speeds at each school, is a dependable, secure, high-bandwidth connection that will help enhance the learning experience for students.

Harmony Public Schools are high performing K-12 college preparatory charter schools focusing on math, science, engineering, and computer technologies.

“Since we have schools located throughout the state, it’s imperative that we have reliable service that is secure,” said Edward Caglar, Chief Information Officer, Harmony Public Schools. “Connectivity is such an important, vital aspect for today’s classrooms and Time Warner Cable Business Class is providing us with a solution to meet our unique needs.”

As an alternative to traditional high-speed data connections, TWCBC DIA provides symmetrical connectivity for businesses, organizations and schools that need high-bandwidth capability. The service runs on TWCBC’s wholly owned, redundant and private end-to-end Fiber network.

“As technology continues to advance, educators are able to leverage the internet to take students beyond the confines of brick and mortar schools,” said Matthew Foosaner, Director, Government and Education Solutions, TWCBC. “Time Warner Cable Business Class is proud to help make that connection for students and teachers.”

TWCBC Managed Security helps customers proactively address security risk management rather than react to threats and vulnerabilities as they arise. The service combines the features of a firewall, anti-virus/anti-spam tools, remote access, and content filtering—all at the server level. Content filtering uses tagging through blacklists to prevent objectionable content from being served.

“While online security impacts every business, keeping potentially dangerous and inappropriate content out of our schools is of great importance. Our Managed Security suite will help reduce the administrative burden on school IT personnel by providing proactive protection and 24/7 monitoring,” added Foosaner.
