Amsterdam – August 27, 2015 – AMS-IX (Amsterdam Internet Exchange), the world’s largest Internet Exchange, has appointed Saskia Poelman (46) as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). She arrives at AMS-IX at an exciting time as the company’s strong growth continues: 60 new parties were connected to the peering platform in the first half of 2015, bringing the total to more than 725 members and customers.
“Neutrality and independence are the founding principles on which AMS-IX and its success have been built,” said Saskia Poelman. “The organisation has a strong growth ambition, is built upon a non-profit model and is independent from third parties or the government. These values and characteristics made AMS-IX really appealing to me and I am looking forward to making my contribution to this as CFO.”
Job Witteman, CEO of AMS-IX: “The AMS-IX model is built upon the trust we receive from our members and clients. We justify that trust by being accountable for our activities towards the members. For an organisation such as ours, the role of CFO is thus crucial in demonstrating transparency. We are exceptionally happy to welcome Saskia to the organisation. Saskia brings with her extensive knowledge and experience that will make an important contribution to keeping our organisation financially sound, so that we can continue the growth of recent years.”
Prior to joining AMS-IX, Saskia held the position of Global Transition Lead at AkzoNobel. She has over seventeen years experience in both financial and managerial positions at organisations such as Deloitte, BDO and Heineken.
