Windstream recognized in two Gartner’s 2015 Magic Quadrant Reports

Windstream positioned in the Disaster Recovery as a Service and Cloud-Enabled Managed Hosting, NA Magic Quadrants

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—Windstream (NYSE:WIN, news, filings), a leading provider of advanced network communications and technology solutions, announced today it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc., in the Niche Quadrant of the 2015 Magic Quadrant for Disaster Recovery as a Service, North America[1], and the 2015 Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Enabled Managed Hosting, North America[2]. Gartner analysts evaluated service providers for each Magic Quadrant based on the criteria of completeness of vision and ability to execute.

“It is an honor to be recognized by Gartner in both the Magic Quadrant for Disaster Recovery as a Service and Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Enabled Managed Hosting, NA,” said Rob Carter, vice president of cloud and data center marketing at Windstream. “We believe our Niche positioning on both quadrants suits Windstream’s core values of serving customers across the United States with a high level of smart solutions and personalized service, customized to support the evolving needs of our customers.”

In the inaugural Magic Quadrant for Disaster Recovery as a Service, Gartner analysts evaluated 14 service providers offering Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) solutions to evaluate providers of DRaaS services in deploying and managing virtual machine replication or physical machine replication into the cloud.

The Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Enabled Managed Hosting, North America reviewed 19 service providers that offer cloud-enabled managed hosting and bring cloudlike consumption and provisioning attributes to the traditional managed hosting market.

“We believe receiving this Gartner Magic Quadrant acknowledgment reflects the years of hard work that our Winning Team has invested in developing our diverse portfolio of cloud and managed solutions,” said Joseph Harding, Windstream’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer. “Windstream’s Hosted Solutions team is dedicated to growing the market and strengthening our offerings to bring the innovative, smart solutions that enterprises need to run their businesses more securely and efficiently.”

Windstream Hosted Solutions, with its nationwide network of 27 data centers, offers a robust cloud-computing solution that improves the efficiency and availability of IT resources and applications for enterprise businesses, allowing them to rapidly implement cloud services without capital investments so they can reshape their environment on demand.

The Windstream Hosted Solutions suite includes public, private and hybrid cloud products, available to businesses nationwide. These managed and dedicated hosting solutions, combined with Windstream’s full lineup of advanced network communications and technology products—including voice and data services such as VoIP, SIP trunking, MPLS and dedicated high-speed Internet—allow Windstream to offer its customers a complete set of integrated services.
