[Nice, France, June 3, 2015] Huawei hosted its “Open Digital Telco Summit” in Nice, France during TM Forum Live! 2015, discussing telecom digitization with global carriers.
Huawei’s summit focused on the topic “Open ROADS to Accelerate Digitization,” discussing industrial hot topics like the digital ecosystem, digital operation, and open cloud infrastructure. More than 200 industry leaders and experts from global operators and consulting firms attended the forum including Telefonica Group, Orange Group, China Mobile, China Unicom Sichuan, and Telkomsigma to share both their viewpoints on digital transformation and their successful cooperation with Huawei. At the summit, the leading consulting firm OVUM also released the results of its global research on digital transformation conducted in cooperation with Huawei. Finally, Huawei shared its digital transformation strategy, and released its big data analytics solution “Fusion Insight – Universe Analytics Solution.”
Zou Zhilei, President of Huawei Carrier Business Group, said, ”The digital era is coming. User requirements and habits are becoming internetized, which we at Huawei summarize as ROADS – Real-time, On-demand, All-online, DIY, and Social. Carriers need to accelerate their digital transformation to meet the “ROADS” requirements. The first important element is Telco OS, a next-generation operations system that supports a ROADS experience, equivalent to the carrier business enabling operating system. Second, a cloud-based and software-defined IT infrastructure and open data platform are also important. Based on our close and long relationship with more than 400 carriers, Huawei deeply understands the pain points and problems brought on by the different phases of digital transformation including demographic dividend, traffic dividend, data dividend, and information dividend. Huawei has experienced the digitization and transformation from CT to IT in the past few years, and will always stress the importance of cooperation and innovation, and strive to become a strategic partner of the digital transformation of carriers as they tackle digital transformation.”
Release of the Digital Transformation Research Report
At the summit, Huawei and OVUM released their joint digital transformation research report showing that digital transformation is a core business requirement for operators. Business agility, faster development and response times, greater customer intimacy, system consolidation and process simplification are also top objectives. Big data is a critical business-enabling technology required for delivering differentiated and personalized predictive and contextual insights across care and marketing.
Release of the “Fusion Insight – Universe Analytics Solution”
At the summit, Huawei also released its “Fusion Insight – Universe Analytics Solution” which aggregates the big data application development ecosystem with the big data operation ecosystem, as well as implements a business-driven and artificial intelligence-centric solution which helps carriers with digital operation transformation. Meng Qinghong, Head of Marketing, China Unicom Sichuan, shared the commercial practice based on the Universe Analytics Solution saying, ”The Open Digital Operation Platform based upon Big Data allows internal and external data exchange, rich applications and support, and internal and partner business innovation in order to realize new revenue growth. CUSC will create more value for our customers and partners, boosting the digital economy of Chinese society through our Comprehensive Service & Big Data platform, leading the 4G network, rich business innovation and industry consolidation.”
From June 2-4, at TM Forum Live! 2015, Huawei will exhibit its solutions which support the telecom digital transformation, including digital service aggregation and operation, digital business and operation transformation, cloud infrastructure, SDN/NFV, and more.
