Second annual mobile health accelerator in Kansas City returns to Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts

Kansas City-based initiative focuses on bringing together the future of mobile technology and health care

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (BUSINESS WIRE), June 01, 2015 – CEOs from the 10 startups that make up the 2015 Sprint Mobile Health Accelerator have powered through three months of nonstop mentor meetings, pitch practice and business strategizing. On Thursday, June 4, they will present their ideas on stage for Demo Day at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City.

This year’s Sprint Accelerator program, powered by Techstars, began on March 9 when 10 mobile health-related startups from across the country and Israel arrived in the Crossroads District of Kansas City to build and strengthen their businesses. Other entrepreneurs, investors and mentors from Sprint and Techstars helped guide the startups through the immersive program.

Accelerator companies are developing solutions that encompass hardware, software platforms and mobile applications. The companies are proposing a range of solutions, including:

  • Mobile dermatology consultation app
  • Intuitive fertility management platform
  • Platform for managing animal health data for veterinarian and pharmaceutical companies
  • Smartphone breathalyzer
  • Smart water bottle
