In addition to AMS-IX Bay Area, AMS-IX USA Inc. operates AMS-IX New York and AMS-IX Chicago.
Telx’s SFR1 is one of the premier data center and carrier facilities in Northern California. It provides access to dozens of the leading domestic and international carriers, as well as physical connection points to the world's telecommunications networks and backbones. Additionally, the facility provides AMS-IX Bay Area with redundancy and diversity from its existing PoPs. SFR1 is also seismically rated for protection against earthquakes.
“Our partnership with AMS-IX USA to open a new AMS-IX Bay Area PoP within the SFR1 facility demonstrates Telx’s commitment to fueling infrastructure, interconnection and business progress,” states Chris Downie, Chief Executive Officer of Telx. “The neutral and distributed Internet exchange model will bring the interconnection market in the San Francisco / Silicon Valley area enormous value, while attracting more customers and stimulating job growth and innovation in the region.”
