[Beijing, China, November 14, 2014]: Huawei announced today that it has been ranked as one of the top five global carrier-class network firewall (CCNFW) vendors according to 2013 global market share estimates in a report by Gartner titled “Competitive Landscape: Carrier-Class Network Firewalls” published in October 2014 . Huawei is the only Chinese vendor ranked in the report.
Gartner analysts identified ten vendors that have large global market shares and significant influence in the industry. As the only Chinese vendor listed in the report, Huawei’s success is attributed to its excellent global market performance and leading market share over the past year.
Liu Lizhu, General Manager of the Firewall and Applied Gateway Domain, Switch and Enterprise Communications Product Line, Huawei, said, “Huawei is at the forefront of 4G and LTE Internet service provider (ISP) network development and is committed to providing high-performance, stable, reliable, and easy-to-manage firewall products to meet our customers’ needs. Huawei carrier firewalls have been applied to the backbone networks of most of the world’s top 50 carriers including China Mobile, T-Mobile, and Telefónica. In the past year, half of Huawei’s total revenue in network security products and services were generated in markets outside of China. We believe that our ranking in the Gartner report demonstrates Huawei’s outstanding business performance over the last year and reinforces Huawei’s proactive approach towards addressing issues with cyber security, research and development capabilities, and delivery of high quality products and solutions. In 2015, we plan to upgrade the platform for Huawei’s carrier firewalls to support software-defined networking and network functions virtualization technologies.”
In addition to providing CCNFWs, Huawei also offers a series of comprehensive network security products and solutions including next-generation firewalls, data center firewalls, standalone intrusion prevention systems, and Anti-DDoS systems. Huawei’s diversified network security products adapt to customer business models and network environments of all sizes, and can support small enterprises, large cloud data centers, and ISP networks. Huawei’s network security products and solutions have been widely adopted by governments and large enterprises in telecommunications, finance, and energy including customers such as Tencent, Alibaba, and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.
