Media Alert: Overture Executives Speaking at Software Telco Congress

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., July 22, 2014 Overture today announced that Bob Lynch, vice president of software, and Mark Durrett, vice president of marketing, will participate on three panel discussions at the upcoming Software Telco Congress to be held Aug. 11-14 at The Rio in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event focuses on the benefits and opportunities that Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) offer, and brings together the industry’s leading Tier 1, 2 and 3 telco carriers, resellers and developers.

On Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 1:45 PM, Lynch will present on the topic “NFV and SDN: A Match Made in Virtual Heaven”. This session will explore how NFV needs the principles of SDN to succeed and how NFV and SDN are most valuable when combined with a mix of scalable and on-demand cloud technologies. Lynch will also participate on the panel discussion “Orchestration and Management in a Software World” to be held Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 9:00 AM. The panel will look at potential benefits of SDN and NFV to help replenish service provider revenue streams and how to meet newly emerging service orchestration and network management requirements

Durrett will contribute to the panel discussion “Making the Transition to Software – Are We Ready?” scheduled for Wednesday, August 12 at 10:45 AM. The panel will address how new SDN and NFV technologies can be deployed and what strategies make the most sense to support existing infrastructure, especially at the edge of the network, as telcos move towards deploying software in their networks.
