Leading submarine cable operator and wholesale provider of data network services to utilize Allied Fiber’s national, open access, integrated network-neutral colocation and dark fiber superstructure
NEW YORK, NY, MIAMI, FL, AND JACKSONVILLE, FL – July 11, 2014 –Allied Fiber, the United States’ first open access, integrated, network-neutral colocation and dark fiber superstructure, today announces that GlobeNet, the leading International fiber optic submarine system operator and wholesale provider of Latin American data network services,has signed a 20-year agreement for dark fiber, as well as neutral colocation and interconnection services.
GlobeNet provides highly secure and reliable, low latency data services to global carriers and service providers over a dual ring-protected fiber-optic submarine cable system serving North and South America. As part of this agreement, GlobeNet gains access to open interconnection with all other network operators that enter the Allied Fiber colocation facilities, as well as added route path and interconnection point diversity that leads to increased resiliency and capillarity resulting in better services and new business opportunities.

This announcement comes just weeks after Allied Fiber announced the Florida segment of its Southeast route was officially Ready for Service (RFS). The segment covers more than 360 miles throughout the State of Florida and was built specifically to serve network operators of all types including, national, regional and metro carriers, as well as submarine cable networks such as GlobeNet.
