Ericsson ranked first in Communications Service Provider Operational Technology Market Share

Gartner market share report ranks Ericsson number one in worldwide communications service provider operational technology revenues
  • Ericsson profiled among vendors across network, software and services categories

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC, news, filings) today announced that Gartner has named it the worldwide communications service provider (CSP) operational technology revenue leader in its Market Share Analysis: Communications Service Provider Operational Technology, Worldwide, 2013 report. The report also places Ericsson as worldwide market share leader for CSP, which is a combination of carrier network infrastructure, telecom operations management systems (BSS, OSS and SDP) and network infrastructure services.

According to the report, which combines carrier network infrastructure and telecom operations management systems, and adds market shares for network infrastructure services, Ericsson software and software services revenues were ranked first in market share in 2013.

Ericsson’s agile software and software services enable CSPs to increase the performance of their business resources with customer-facing software and to plan, build, run and support the performance and availability of their networks and IT resources with network-facing software.

Per Borgklint, Senior Vice President and Head of Ericsson’s Business Unit Support Solutions says: “We believe Gartner’s CSP operational technology analysis further validates our position in the market and commitment to providing customers with innovative, integrated solutions that lower their costs and increase revenues even as they bring complex new services to market.

“Ericsson is proud to be recognized following the significant work we’ve done to bolster our value proposition as a global OSS/BSS solution provider through strategic acquisitions and investments that have also strengthened our global consulting and system integrator exposure.”

Gartner’s CSP Operational Technology worldwide market share data report comprises all vendor solutions that are designed to specifically cater to the CSP vertical, including network and network services, as well as infrastructure and application software and services and corresponding services. It excludes solutions that are not CSP-specific, even if sourced by CSPs, such as data center solutions and handsets.

Operators must become agile as they support services across networks, offer a range of plans and push the limits of innovation. Ericsson helps customers meet changing demands with a comprehensive, unified OSS and BSS product suite that combines business, IT and network capabilities.

A team of more than 61,000 services professionals supports CSPs with consulting and systems integration services, managed services, product related services and broadcast and media services. These services professionals have the end-to-end (e2e) competence required to efficiently integrate solutions, simplify and automate processes, and leverage real-time synergies and interactions between telecom, IT and network functions. In this way, they deliver real-time services and customer insights.
