Nokia Solutions and Networks today announced the appointment of Deon Geyser as head of Southern Africa sub-region effective today. Deon has held a number of senior management positions in leading African telecom companies, including COO at Milicom International Cellular (Tigo) in Tanzania. In his previous role at NSN, Deon served the company as Country Director for Tanzania from 2007-2012.

With his strong track record in several key management positions in telecommunications companies, he will prove an excellent addition to the vibrant NSN team in the Middle East and Africa region,” said Igor Leprince, Senior Vice President, Middle East and Africa business region at NSN.

Deon has held various roles across NSN before moving to Millicom as COO. He has vast experience across mobile broadband, value added services (VAS), billing, business transformation, managed services and customer experience management (CEM).
Born in South Africa, he holds two undergraduate degrees in Electronics Engineering and IT and a masters degree in Engineering Management from University of Johannesburg. He likes to spend his spare time with his family. He also enjoys running, sports and socializing. Based in South Africa, he is married and has two children.
