US Signal Expands Network Access in Midwest Central Offices

Date: February 11, 2014

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – US Signal, an industry-leading network provider in the Midwest, today announced that it is expanding its network access footprint by lighting fiber in 52 Central Offices (COs) in Michigan, Illinois and Indiana.

“We continue to see increasing demand for on-net services throughout these regions and expect demand to only grow in 2014,” said Kirk Dombek, Vice President of Business Development. “The increase in access points will not only improve connectivity for customers within the expanded footprint, but across the entire US Signal network.”

The expansion, to be completed by the end of the first quarter in Michigan, is expected to result in enhanced bandwidth options and competitive pricing for customers, potentially allowing more bandwidth for a lower per gig rate.  Businesses in Plymouth, Royal Oak, Howell, Farmington Hills and Monroe, Mich. are likely to benefit from the expansion. The planned expansion in Indiana and Illinois cities will be completed by the second quarter of 2014.

With more access points to the US Signal network, customers in these areas will have an alternative to their Local Exchange Carrier or Cable Company, along with unmatched end-to-end reliability and security through US Signal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).   “As we continue to grow, we expect to embark on similar expansion projects throughout the Midwest in the near future,” Dombek added.
