Integra Connects Fiber Network from Salt Lake City to Sacramento

100 Gbps Expansion of Fiber Network Backbone Brings Faster Connections for Businesses across the Western United States

Portland, Ore. – January 29, 2014 – Integra™, a provider of fiber-based, carrier-grade networking, communications and technology solutions, has enabled a long-haul fiber optic network route directly connecting Salt Lake City to Sacramento. The 865 route-mile network expansion will deliver high-bandwidth, low-latency transport to Integra metro networks in those cities as well as Reno and the San Francisco Bay Area via Integra’s 100 Gigabit-per-second (Gbps) long-haul fiber backbone. Combined, Integra’s long-haul network now exceeds 6,000 route miles across the Western United States.

By providing a direct east-west connection from Northern California through Nevada into Utah, Integra increases bandwidth and dramatically reduces network latency for data centers, enterprises, wholesale partners and others located within or adjacent to the fast-growing region. Integra’s reliable, high-speed backbone offers maximum transport efficiency for wide area networks, private cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructures as well as customers who rely on Integra’s enterprise services such as Wavelengths Services and other managed and cloud services. In addition, the new route enhances Integra’s offering by enabling new network diversity, protection and business continuity solutions.

“This route provides the perfect complement to our existing long haul and metro fiber in the region,” said Dan Stoll, Integra’s vice president of corporate development. “We’re confident in the value this strategic route will add for new and existing customers in the enterprise, government, and wholesale segments in support of their network and cloud-based solutions.”

This is the first of many strategic investments in network expansion Integra plans for 2014. Integra is now accepting orders for access to the network segment for new and existing customers, backed by Integra’s commitment to superior support and industry-leading service level agreements.
