FirstLight Fulfills SRPC’s Need for Speed

We’re excited to announce the release of our latest case study with Schenectady Radiologists, PC (SRPC Medical Imaging), a medical imaging services provider operating imaging centers in Niskayuna and Guilderland, New York and local hospitals. SRPC strives to make its patients as comfortable as possible by providing a relaxed setting. Due to this mission, SRPC required a more robust, private wide area network (WAN) architecture that could create a real-time, collaborative environment for its physicians that was secure, reliable and affordable so that the organization could process, review and store scans quickly and efficiently.  After an exhaustive search, FirstLight’s Metro Ethernet service proved to be the perfect fit.

Thanks to FirstLight’s service, the SRPC network is faster, more reliable and operates without delay. Additionally, FirstLight’s scalable solution enables SRPC to complete more readings by enabling instantaneous connectivity between its offices and external workstations. Radiologists are no longer tethered to a particular site and can access images and transfer files with incredible ease and speed. Patient experience has also been enhanced, as medical images are now stored electronically in a centralized password-protected PACS system, which alleviates patients from the task of toting their images from doctor to doctor.

FirstLight’s solution has been a great success for SRPC. SRPC has noted significant cost- and time- savings since switching from its previous copper-based solution. Since the implementation of FirstLight’s Metro Ethernet service, SRPC has also noted the decrease in complaints among its physicians and enhanced collaboration amongst its radiologists.
