Huawei Managed Services White Paper Released

Shenzhen, China, June 28th 2013]: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, is today releasing its latest Thought Leadership white paper concerning the Telecoms Managed Services industry. The paper, titled “Excel in Operation Transformation – Managed Services for Total Value of Ownership” reflects recent research commissioned by Huawei, in support of its long-standing assertion that the Managed Services industry needs to adapt and change to meet the needs of today’s Communications Service Providers (CSPs). The paper provides perspective on the development of the Managed Services business and identifies market trends that are driving its development in a new direction to deliver additional value to CSP’s, and how these factors represent a collective driver for CSP’s to consider Managed Services as a solution.

The paper further describes how the Managed Services industry is moving from the traditional outsourcing model in which the main, if not only, driver is cost reduction, to a new model that seeks to add value to the business of the CSP at all levels. This includes the popular notion of changing the operational focus from the network performance to subscriber experience improvement using mechanisms such as the Service Operation Centre (SOC) and also the move for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to add value through direct enhancement of CSP revenue as part of the total value package they deliver.

In summary, the paper describes a Total Value of Ownership or TVO, approach along with essential elements a MSP must develop to resolve the question on the minds of operators the world over, relating to how to continue to profitably grow their business while retaining and satisfying customers in an ever more complex technological and business landscape. This White Paper coincides with the release of a Research Paper by Informa Telecoms & Media which broadly supports the Huawei opinions on the future of Managed Services.
