Cambodian Service Provider Deploys BTI Systems Solutions for High-Capacity, Multiservice Nationwide Network

S.I NET Scales to Meet Exponential Traffic Growth, While Simplifying Network Operations and Driving Down Costs by 35% to 40%

SINGAPORE – June 18, 2013

BTI Systems, the software and networking leader empowering content and service providers to capitalize on trends in cloud services, mobility and Internet video, today announced that S.I NET, a business unit of S.I GROUP, has deployed BTI’s intelligent networking systems and software to meet a tremendous increase in demand for Ethernet and IP services. BTI made the announcement at CommunicAsia 2013, being held at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore from June 18 through June 21. BTI is exhibiting at the event in Booth #BJ2-07.

S.I NET’s nationwide backbone previously was based on Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH), which did not scale and could not support demand. By converging packet/carrier Ethernet and optical/DWDM using BTI’s intelligent, multiservice networking solutions, S.I NET has met goals for increased capacity, improved economics and simplified management and operations for services delivered to businesses and service providers nationwide.

“We have earned a reputation for delivering, developing and managing services and solutions to provide our business and service provider customers with what they need to be successful,” said S.I GROUP CEO Meta Sy. “S.I NET is on a track to expand and support 24 cities across Cambodia by the end of 2013. We needed to invest in a new infrastructure that would enable us to increase our range of services and reduce costs, footprint and power consumption. We chose BTI because they offered not only the most compelling packet optical networking solutions, but also a close partnership working with us to ensure success.”

“S.I NET is a leading metro service provider across Cambodia serving major retail, financial and travel enterprises as well as mobile operators and telcos,” said BTI Vice President of Business Development, Asia Marc Olivier. “By transforming their infrastructure they have future proofed their network and enabled the rapid deployment of new revenue-generating services. We teamed closely with S.I NET to meet their requirements and ensure a fully resilient, highly reliable network that can scale easily up to 100G. We look forward to continuing to help S.I NET be the most competitive provider in Cambodia.”

S.I NET has deployed the BTI 7000 Series supporting Mobile Backhaul and Ethernet Business Services in a nationwide network. Additionally, they are leveraging the BTI proNX Management and Control Software and the BTI 700 Series. The BTI 7000 Series is the most compact, modular and easy-to-use packet optical networking system in the industry today. Purpose-built to unify packet and optical service delivery into one platform for network-layer consolidation, the BTI 7000 Series provides dynamic scaling at a radically low cost-per-bit. By converging Ethernet and optical over the same platform, BTI offered S.I NET a solution that was easy to deploy.

To rapidly extend Ethernet services to business customers, cell towers, outside plant deployments and multitenant campuses, the BTI 700 Series offers multiple small form-factor configurations for cost-effective and rapid service delivery.

The BTI proNX Management and Control Software is a highly scalable centralized platform that discovers, abstracts and normalizes multivendor, multilayer complexity from the network, and enables S.I NET to increase programmability, automation and network control. The software improves infrastructure efficiency, increases the rate of delivery of profitable high-value services and enables more highly scalable, flexible network solutions that readily adapt to changing business needs.
