Rotating and Acting CEO Tenure Notice

Mr. Ken Hu will be the Acting CEO of Huawei from April 1st 2013 to September 30th 2013, according to Huawei Rotating CEO system. Acting as the primary person of the company’s operations and crisis management during his tenure, the rotating and acting CEO is responsible for the company’s survival and development. The rotating and acting CEO is responsible for convening and chairing the meetings of the Executive Management Team of the BOD.

Biography of Mr. Ken Hu

Mr. Ken (Houkun) Hu is Deputy Chairman of Huawei Technologies. He is a member of Huawei’s Board of Directors and Executive Management Team (EMT) and is also Chairman of Huawei USA. With 20 years of experience in the telecoms industry, Mr. Hu is integral to the strategic direction of the company and instrumental to Huawei’s efforts to expand its business in global markets.

As part of his role as Deputy Chairman, Mr. Hu is head of Huawei’s Human Resources Committee and is responsible for the company’s leadership and organizational development. He is also the head of the company’s Global Cyber Security Committee, which oversees the development of Huawei’s global cyber security strategies and the establishment of an end-to-end cyber security assurance system.

Mr. Hu joined the company in 1990, when Huawei was just a fledgling venture. Since then, he has helped Huawei establish a global sales and service network that introduces its innovative products and solutions to the world’s leading operators. He also played a key role in the company’s management transformation that has facilitated Huawei’s globalization. Prior to his current role, Mr. Hu has held several senior positions within the company, including Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer, Chief Sales & Service Officer, President of Global Sales, Regional President of Huawei Latin America, and President of Huawei’s Chinese market.

Mr. Hu is actively involved in activities that promote the development of humanity and social progress through technological innovation. He has served as a member of the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Technology Pioneers selection committee since 2010, a member of the WEF Connected World advisory board in 2012.

Mr. Hu holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China.
