Shenzhen, China, January 16, 2013]: Huawei, a global leading information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced an industry first for its OceanStor T series storage products, which will be the first in the industry to support both 16 Gbit/s Fibre Channel and 12 Gbit/s SAS interface specifications. By providing customer-centric storage solutions that are converged and easy-to-use, Huawei seeks to help enterprise customers achieve higher production efficiency and lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
OceanStor T series storage products take the lead in adopting the 16 Gbit/s Fibre Channel and 12 Gbit/s SAS interface technologies in the industry. The new interface technologies double the bandwidth per channel between servers and storage devices, as well as between storage controllers and disk enclosures. In addition, Huawei OceanStor T series storage products feature a modular design, supporting hot swapping, failover, and load balancing. Together, these technologies provide a storage infrastructure that features high performance, outstanding scalability, and robust reliability to meet requirements for increasing data storage demands and continuous evolution of applications, configurations, and capacities, ultimately maximizing customers’ return on investment (ROI).
“The ability to support 16 Gbit/s Fibre Channel and 12 Gbit/s SAS interface technologies is a milestone in the storage industry for the construction of enterprise-level data centers with high-speed storage. Through doubling the performance of Huawei’s storage products with the adoption of the interface technologies, Huawei OceanStor T series storage products will be able to better support centralized virtualization and cloud computing within enterprises,” said Mr. Fan Ruiqi, President of Huawei Storage Product Line.
With its firm dedication to customer-centric innovation, Huawei has been engaged in the server business for a decade and is committed to continuous research and development. Over the years, Huawei’s products and solutions have received recognition in the many industries that Huawei serves. In the storage domain, Huawei’s storage portfolio covers unified storage, solid state storage, storage virtualization, big data storage, cloud storage, as well as storage software.
