Attracts Veteran Channel Leader, Expands Partner Enablement Portfolio and Announces New Wholesale Brand
DALLAS, Texas and PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 8, 2012 – Integra Telecom Inc., a provider of fiber-based, carrier-grade networking, communications and technology solutions, is demonstrating its commitment to wholesale partners with enhancements to its Ethernet product portfolio, expansion of its fiber network and the launch of improved quoting and service location tools. To lead its wholesale program, Integra has appointed Martha Tate as vice president, wholesale. Tate will be instrumental in the company’s continued strategic push into the wholesale segment, growing its sales organization and further developing its wholesale customer base. Further, the company’s Electric Lightwave subsidiary will now be called Integra Wholesale to better reflect its longstanding integration into Integra’s business.
“Integra is deeply committed to its wholesale channel, and we have worked diligently to align our products, our network assets and our dedicated team with the growing opportunity we see in the wholesale marketplace,” said Ken Smith, executive vice president of sales for Integra Telecom. “Our goal is to be as strategically advantageous and easy to do business with for our wholesale partners as we are for our business customers, and with leadership from successful industry veterans like Martha, we are making that a reality.”
Integra continues its investment in a best-in-class fiber network and carrier-grade product portfolio as it becomes the Ethernet provider of choice for the markets and wholesale partners it serves. In May, Integra announced the expansion of its Ethernet over Copper (EoC) network to provide high-bandwidth, reliable and secure Ethernet access to more than 120 Central Offices and 400,000 businesses, exceeding the reach of most competitive offerings in each of the markets served.
At COMPTEL PLUS, Integra announces the release of a Loop Qualification tool to maximize the awareness of its Ethernet capabilities and provide wholesale partners as well as the sales channel the ability to determine serviceable on-net locations, supported products and network capacity. This addition complements Integra’s intelligent network performance monitoring tools, offering customers more ways to monitor and optimize their Ethernet network, while providing a network operations center like experience for Integra’s E-Line services.
The company’s commitment to Ethernet is further illustrated by the enablement of 10 new Network-to-Network (NNI) interconnections since mid-year, bringing Ethernet access to nearly 40,000 buildings and 1,400 partner collocations in several key metropolitan markets including Minneapolis, Denver, Colorado Springs, Boise, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Northern California, Seattle and Portland. Integra also has plans to onboard new partners and Ethernet assets throughout the year. Finally, Integra has recently added a Dark Fiber offering to complement our Ethernet services and Wavelength services portfolios, providing multiple infrastructure solutions to wholesale customers into unique routes and locations.
Integra recently appointed Tate to lead its wholesale team and grow the company’s relationships with LEC/CLEC, wireless providers, data centers, content providers and resellers in addition to leveraging Integra’s unique infrastructure solutions including wavelengths, dark fiber and colocation. Prior to joining Integra, Tate held various senior management roles at Comcast Cable Corp., Level 3 Communications and MFS Communications. Tate’s arrival and the many enhancements to Integra’s wholesale programs come at the same time as Integra transitions its wholesale brand from Electric Lightwave to Integra Wholesale, leveraging the Integra brand to further strengthen the company’s position as an easy-to-work-with partner offering a superior customer experience.
