Huawei recognized for its outstanding industry performance across Asia Pacific
[Singapore, July 2, 2012]: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, announced that it received the Vendor of the Year and Green Technology Awards at the 2012 Asia Communication Awards. Mr. Ken Hu, Deputy Chairman of the Board, Huawei, was also selected from among nine finalist of leading ICT companies to receive the CEO of the Year Award.
The judges indicated that the decision to give the Vendor of the Year award to Huawei was largely due to its business presence throughout Asia Pacific and around the world with evidence in particular of numerous Asia-Pacific contract wins, its ability to develop and offer innovative services, its performance in the global handset market, and its customer-centric culture.
Huawei received the Green Technology award for its Mini-shelter mobile site solution, a green integration outdoor power system that reduces power consumption and carbon footprint. The Mini-shelter is easy to install, is programmed to adapt to a wide range of scenarios and requirements, and uses a rectifier that generates an efficiency rate of 96.8 percent. Due to its energy-saving features, this solution has been favored by operators throughout Asia’s emerging markets.

Also in June, at the 2012 Asia Pacific ICT Awards, Frost & Sullivan presented Huawei with the Carrier Data Infrastructure Vendor of the Year, Wireless Infrastructure Vendor of the Year and Vendor of the Year Awards. These awards recognize Huawei’s achievements in the extensive deployment of next-generation wireless and All-IP broadband networks across the region.
