Atlanta-based Non-Profit Upgrades Bandwidth for Improved Communication with Worldwide Audience

Cbeyond, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBEY), a leading provider of network and cloud services to small and medium sized businesses, today announced it has been enlisted by Leading the Way, a non-profit sister organization of the Atlanta-based Church of the Apostles, to provide a customized package of fiber, voice and data management services that will better enable the church to broadcast its weekly services worldwide.
Leading the Way first partnered with Cbeyond in 2001 to install broadband and phone services needed to provide web and voice updates for its staff and partners. As the organization’s initiatives expanded to include a daily radio program and weekly church service simulcasts, it needed greater bandwidth and communications capabilities to reach its growing global audience. Additionally, as Leading the Way prepared to move into a new facility, it recognized opportunities to improve its IT tools, procedures and staff.

To accommodate its broadcast needs, Cbeyond implemented a 100 Mbps-per-service fiber line throughout Leading the Way’s new facility. Additionally, Leading the Way and Cbeyond worked together to design a custom package to provide greater capacity for the church’s widespread communications, establishing voice-only PRI, public IP, toll-free and incoming and outgoing data management services. As a result of the bandwidth and tools upgrade, Leading the Way now connects more efficiently with its local and global audiences and broadcasts daily and weekly programming in more than 20 languages to nearly 200 countries.
