QTS Expands Corporate Giving Program, Appoints Experienced Service Leader as Director of Community Relations

Dwight Douglas to extend company philanthropy and service engagement in markets served by QTS

KANSAS CITY, KS (March 29, 2012)

QTS (Quality Technology Services), one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing providers of data center facilities and managed services, announced today that it has instituted an expanded charitable giving and community service program.   This initiative will formalize the company leadership’s vision to grow and enhance current philanthropic efforts by providing financial resources, technology services and employee time and talents to nonprofit agencies.  As a result, QTS hopes to improve the communities where its data centers are located, including Atlanta, Jersey City, Kansas City, Miami, Richmond and Santa Clara.

QTS has hired Dwight Douglas to serve as its first director of community relations.  Douglas’ lengthy career of service includes positions as an executive administrator, educator, pastor, emergency services chaplain and public safety official.  Douglas is well-regarded as a service leader in Kansas, where he served for 16 years at MidAmerica Nazarene University in various executive administrative roles including vice president for institutional advancement. During his tenure there, he successfully organized and led multiple development projects, capital campaigns and community service programs.  Prior to his tenure in Kansas, he spent 13 years in Oregon, where he served as a minister and chaplain to fire, rescue and other public safety teams, as well as being part of dive and other rescue squads.

“I’m thrilled to be involved with a community-minded company like QTS, whose people are committed to giving back,” said Douglas.  “Under the leadership of Chad Williams, QTS has always been a service-oriented company that is heavily involved with charitable endeavors in the markets that are home to QTS data centers.   The goal of the new corporate giving program is to engage employees in worthwhile causes that better our communities and change lives.  As the company implements this new program, I look forward to nurturing and expanding the relationships QTS enjoys with philanthropic partners across the nation.”

“We are excited to expand our corporate giving program to further promote community well-being where our employees live and work,” said Chad Williams, chief executive officer – QTS. “Dwight has had a distinguished career serving others and is the perfect person to lead our nationwide philanthropic efforts.  This expression of social responsibility is designed to positively impact our communities and improve the lives of those most in need. I am also convinced that our efforts will be internally rewarding as employees experience personal growth and enrichment through their service to others.”
