GENBAND Introduces P Series P320, an Industry-Leading High Capacity Traffic and Policy Management Solution

100-GE capable platform enables operators to deploy network optimization and broadband personalization at unrivaled scale, creating premium customer experiences

Barcelona, February 27, 2012GENBAND,a leading developer of IP infrastructure and application solutions, today announced the introduction of the P Series P320TMTraffic and Policy Management (TPM) platform, one of the industry’s highest throughput TPM platforms, with 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) capabilities.  The P320 platform offers significantly enhanced speed and network intelligence capabilities, supporting unprecedented service provider scale of up to 10 million active subscribers and 120 million active flows with the ability to enforce services and collect billing information on every active flow in the system. By enabling operators to more quickly seize the numerous opportunities offered by the latest in broadband applications and technology and introduce innovative service plans, GENBAND’s P320 creates the ultimate policy control and enforcement platform.

“Many operators continue to struggle with network capacity and performance issues and the inability to completely understand and match their service offerings to their subscribers’ usage patterns,” said BG Kumar, President of Networking and Applications, GENBAND. “The GENBAND P320 helps operators tackle these problems directly with dramatic simplicity through our powerful analytics, tools and deep packet inspection (DPI) technology. TPM systems that do not scale to meet these critical requirements can result in a significant impact on profitability and lead to lost revenues and customers.”

The P320 platform takes performance in the TPM market to a completely new level with 320 Gbps per system and up to 5 Tbps per cluster, and support for up to 72 ports of 10 GE and four ports of 100 GE interfaces. GENBAND TPM products offer analytics, customer-defined Virtual Services and easy-to-create billing and service policies on the P Series Subscriber Manager. These intuitive GENBAND tools enable large service providers to create new revenue-generating service offerings through broadband personalization.

GENBAND’s P Series products empower operators to deliver a premium user experience by allowing each subscriber to create a customized service experience and billing plan that best meets their needs. Broadband personalization allows subscribers to create tailored packages with predictable billing and enables carriers to offer services like content optimization and video caching to capture incremental revenue for providing an improved customer experience.

“As service providers compete with each other and over-the-top players, the speed of application innovation and time to market will be critical,” said Graham Finnie, Chief Analyst, Heavy Reading. “Our research with operators shows that vendors will have to be able to scale to high transaction rates, and offer a variety of value-added tools, if they are to succeed in the marketplace. The aim is to enable service providers to much more quickly identify new service opportunities and launch them, creating customer stickiness and new revenue-generating streams.”

GENBAND will feature its Traffic and Policy Management and Personalized Broadband solutions at this year’s Mobile World Congress conference in Barcelona, February 27 – March 1.  Visit the GENBAND booth at 2A07, Hall 2.0.
