Pacnet Wins Best Pan-Asian Carrier Award

Capacity Magazine recognizes Pacnet for its outstanding achievements in the wholesale telecommunications market

HONG KONG, 23 November 2011 – Pacnet, Asia’s leading independent telecommunications service provider, has been recognized for delivering the Best Pan-Asian Wholesale Offering at the Capacity Awards 2011 held yesterday alongside Capacity Europe 2011, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

“We are very honored and encouraged by Capacity Magazine’s recognition of our efforts and achievements in the wholesale telecommunications services market,” said Bill Barney, Chief Executive Officer of Pacnet. “We thank our partners and customers for their support as Pacnet continues to enhance our network assets to deliver services and solutions that meet the demands of the wholesale market.”

Winners of Capacity Awards 2011 were chosen by an esteemed panel of leading telecoms analysts in the industry, as well as the senior editorial team from Capacity Magazine.

Pacnet delivers a wide range of wholesale capacity services ranging from Indefeasible Rights of Use (IRUs) capacity to International private leased line services, which is backed by its ownership of 46,420 km of fiber optic submarine cable infrastructure connecting key locations in Asia and across the Pacific Ocean.

This includes the EAC-C2C network, Asia’s largest privately-owned submarine cable network of 36,800 km, which lands in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan. Coupled with the company’s trans-Pacific cable EAC Pacific, Pacnet enables customers to connect from Asia, through Japan and on to the US on a single Pacnet network.

Pacnet’s unique meshed network architecture, together with the Automatically Switched Optical Network (ASON) technology deployed throughout the network, allows Pacnet to offer unparalleled routing capability in Asia and continue to stay ahead of the competition. It also provides redundancy via multiple submarine routes to the same countries, presenting a highly attractive and unique value proposition to customers.
