Telx Hosts Financial webcast On OTC Derivatives Reform

Free Webinar Features TABB Group Analyst Kevin McPartland and a Panel of Swaps Market Experts on Wednesday, October 5 at Noon EDT

New York, NY (September 21, 2011) – Telx®, a leading interconnection and data center provider in strategic North American markets, today announced that they are hosting a free financial markets webinar, “OTC Derivatives Reform: Impact on Data, Connectivity and Data Center Demand,” Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at noon EDT/ 9 a.m. PDT. The webcast is aimed at professionals in the swap trading industry, including dealers, traders, execution facilities, clearinghouses, data repository and warehouses executives, swap trading technology and architecture managers in need of reliable, real-world information to help them make the transition through the often confusing regulation reform sweeping the electronic swaps trading environment, while reducing both connection latency and liquidity risks. The interactive session will be hosted by Telx VP of Financial Markets Michael Cattell and will feature input from a panel of the industry’s leading players.

“Over-the-counter (OTC) derivative reform intends to reduce systemic risk and increase market transparency.  Success, however, is highly dependent on the industry’s ability to produce, transmit, capture, store, and analyze petabytes of data,” said Kevin McPartland, principal and director of Fixed Income for TABB Group. “Now, as swaps trading moves to an electronic environment, latency concerns enter the picture. This forces trading firms to transform computer-intensive processes from batch to intraday, ultimately focusing on proximity to swap execution facility matching engines and related cash and derivatives markets.”

The panel includes Eiman Abdelmoneim, Principal, Client Relations at Sky Road, LLC; Christopher P. Augustin, CIO  and Senior Founding Partner at Javelin Capital Markets, LLC; Henry Hunter, head of Product Management and Business Development with MarkitSERV; Jeffrey Maron, head of Client Technology at RatesMatch, GFI Group Inc.; Michael Riddle, Chief Operating Officer at Eris Exchange. These industry leaders will address topics that are impacting financial markets today, such as the fundamental changes to financial technology infrastructure caused by new regulations and best practices for low-latency, low-risk strategies. What does “as soon as technologically possible” really mean? What are the biggest new sources of data in the financial markets industry – and is your data center ready to handle them?

“Telx is committed to offering its financial markets customers access to the most influential and experienced minds as they face more changes that directly affect their fast-moving industry,” said Michael Cattell, VP of Financial Markets for Telx. “We look forward to bringing our attendees useful, relevant information that will help them cut through the many questions and uncertainty currently surrounding OTC derivatives reform, and help them apply this information to their own organizations.”
