Industry Veterans Set to Drive Company in Rapid Growth Phase: Sally Bament to Lead Global Marketing; Paul Crann to Lead Product Management and Business Development
Ottawa – September 21, 2011
BTI Systems, the networking company that creates high-capacity and agile service infrastructures for the metro, today announced additions to its executive management team. Sally Bament joins as senior vice president of global marketing and Paul Crann as senior vice president of product management and business development. Both of these newly-created positions will report directly to President and CEO Steve Waszak.
“The road ahead for BTI Systems presents a wealth of opportunities as we broaden our product and services portfolio to meet the needs of our current customers, expand our business into new growth markets, and become a more strategic partner to our customers worldwide,” said Waszak. “The depth of industry experience in developing a global go-to-market strategy and demonstrated ability of delivering innovative products to market that Sally and Paul bring will be a tremendous asset to both our current and our new customers as we build on the momentum in our business.”
Bament and Crann will lead an expanded presence for BTI Systems in North America as the company builds on recent moves into key geographies in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. Together, they will help drive BTI Systems’ overall strategy, market positioning, product development and vision globally; leveraging its portfolio to support the needs of its current customers, including most recently cable MSOs, as well as expanding its footprint in the high-growth market segments of mobility, content and video service delivery.
As SVP of Global Marketing, Bament will oversee BTI Systems’ overall marketing strategy, including portfolio marketing, corporate marketing, field marketing and communications. An accomplished 20-year marketing veteran in the networking and telecommunications industries, Bament brings extensive operational and strategic leadership experience from companies ranging from small startups to large-cap market leaders, including Nortel, Wellfleet/Bay Networks and Convergent Networks. Bament joins BTI Systems from Boston-Power, where she led the company’s global marketing initiatives in the advanced lithium-ion battery industry.
As SVP of Product Management & Business Development, Crann is responsible for delivering breakthrough solutions to service providers worldwide. He brings 20 years of operational experience in a variety of management roles across the data networking and wireless communications industries, including Crann’s most recent position delivering video infrastructure solutions to the market as SVP of Product Management with BigBand Networks. Crann has also worked extensively with service providers in previous roles with Omnipoint Communications, Ascend Communications, Avici Systems and several early stage start-up companies.
This news comes as BTI Systems furthers its objective to elevate the metro network opportunity for service providers by merging service and application-aware intelligence into its robust, packet optical platform. This innovative approach enables BTI Systems’ customers to meet the increasing service and capacity requirements on networks today, while enabling the creation of new application-aware services that the market is demanding.
