ATLANTA, GA — September 12, 2011 — EarthLink, Inc. (NASDAQ:ELNK, news, filings), a leading IP infrastructure and services company, today announced that Chris Murray has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Public Policy.
In this newly created senior-level position, Murray will lead EarthLink’s public policy positioning and interface with lawmakers and regulators. Based in Washington, D.C., Murray will work to ensure that EarthLink is not disadvantaged by new regulation and legislation, and that the company seizes opportunities in that environment.

Murray’s experiences include his recent tenure as Vice President of External Affairs for Clearwire, where he helped maintain an industry-leading spectrum portfolio for this mobile broadband Internet provider. Previously, Murray served as Senior Counsel for Consumers Union, the publisher of Consumer Reports, and established a Washington D.C. presence for Internet telephone provider Vonage as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs. Murray earned his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
