LOUISVILLE, Colo.– July 25, 2011 – Zayo, a provider of bandwidth, colocation and dark fiber infrastructure services, has signed a multi-year agreement with Denver-based PeakColo. PeakColo is a provider of cloud-based solutions and services including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) that is used for cloud-based solution deployments and as the foundation for Software-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service. Under the terms of the agreement, Zayo will provide PeakColo with dark fiber that will serve as the core connectivity in PeakColo’s western-area network, enabling PeakColo to further enhance the speed and performance of its cloud services to customers in their Colorado and Arizona data centers.
Cloud-based solutions are rapidly growing, with more than 37 percent of large businesses already adopting cloud-based offerings, according to a recent CDW study. Zayo is strategically positioned to deliver the bandwidth infrastructure necessary to support this increasing demand. Zayo provides transport, dark fiber and other bandwidth services over its network footprints in 31 states plus Washington D.C.
“PeakColo has experienced 300 percent year-over-year growth and, as a result, we had an immediate need for reliable network services that could be deployed quickly. Zayo not only delivered on this requirement but they did so with the bandwidth we needed today, tomorrow and into the foreseeable future,” said Luke Norris, president and CEO of PeakColo. “The Zayo team was easy to work with and they operated with the efficiency and flexibility we needed to continue to grow at this pace.”
“PeakColo is a great example of why dark fiber makes sense for many companies,” said John Real, vice president and general manager of the central region for Zayo Networks. “PeakColo’s cloud-based solutions require the ability to react quickly to a customer’s increasing bandwidth needs. Zayo’s dark fiber solutionsallow PeakColo to have that control at its fingertips, without waiting for a service provider, and the scalability of dark fiber can accommodate PeakColo’s evolving technologies as needed.”
