Sidera Networks Continues to Deliver Superior Access and Speed with Connectivity to ancotel USA Colocation and Data Center Facility in Westbury, New York

Sidera becomes the only provider to offer exclusive routes from Long Island to New Jersey and Aurora, bypassing New York City, for advanced reliability and ultra low-latency connectivity

New York – June 15, 2011 – Sidera Networks, the premier provider of fiber optic-based network solutions, today announced that it will provide connectivity to the ancotel USA, LLC colocation facility in Westbury, New York, becoming the only provider to offer direct routes from Long Island to New Jersey and Aurora, with the ability to bypass New York City via a unique crossing between Brooklyn and Staten Island.

ancotel USA purchased Long Island Data and Recovery Center’s (LIDARC) colocation and interconnection facility located in Westbury, N.Y., in 2010  and offers connectivity to a “Manhattan Bypass Network” via submarine cables from Brooklyn to Staten Island and Staten Island to New Jersey. Additionally, this facility offers direct interconnectivity to and between trans-Atlantic, Caribbean and Latin American submarine cable systems as well as leading nationwide and global network operators. As a result, Sidera Networks will further enhance its offerings to the financial services community, with ultra low-latency and connectivity from Long Island to its surrounding metropolitan areas with the ability to avoid NYC.

“Connecting to this facility, advantageously located at the easternmost part of the country, is a testament to our commitment in fully leveraging our assets to maximize our services to the financial market,” said Mike Sicoli, CEO of Sidera Networks. “Our state-of-the-art, ultra low-latency network ring and the access that we provide to key financial exchanges, data centers and colocation facilities is a combination that is proven to deliver a strategic advantage for the financial services community.”

As a result of the acquisition of Long Island Fiber Exchange in 2010, Sidera is able to quickly and seamlessly connect to ancotel’s facility in Westbury, New York – bringing access to Sidera’s exclusive Xtreme Network to more exchanges, brokers, hedge funds, as well as order management and market data providers in the financial services community. The connection to Westbury, NY will be concluded by August of this year.

To learn more about this exclusive connectivity, visit Sidera Networks at SIFMA’s Financial Services Technology Leaders Forum and Expo at booth 1848 from June 14 – 16 in New York City.
