Zayo Overbuilding Memphis Network to Support Fiber-Based Services Throughout Metro Area

LOUISVILLE, Colo. – May 17,2011 – Zayo, a provider of bandwidth and dark fiber infrastructure services, is currently expanding and adding additional capacity to its existing network in Memphis, TN.

Zayo’s Memphis network currently supports dark fiber and bandwidth solutions including private line, wavelength and Ethernet services.  With this expansion, Zayo’s network will cover more than 425 route miles, connect to more than 350 buildings and will reach nearly every major business and commercial area throughout the Memphis metropolitan area.  In addition, the planned expansion will enhance Zayo’s existing footprint by significantly increasing fiber counts on current routes.  In total, Zayo will be adding nearly 20,000 fiber miles of additional capacity to its Memphis backbone to support current and future customer solutions in Memphis, Bartlett, Germantown, Oakville and other key commercial areas.

“Zayo views Memphis as a key market, based on our expansive fiber footprint, the unique network topology, and a growing customer demand for fiber connectivity,” says Matt Erickson, President, Zayo Fiber Solutions. “We look forward to putting this new fiber to work for our customers and will continue to seek opportunities to further expand our Memphis network.”
