We are, as a parallel activity, working with our partners and customers to participate, promote and prioritize IPv6.
From pioneering Europe’s first commercially available IPv6 network in 2001, today TeliaSonera offers dual stack IPv6 at its International Carrier POPs across 3 continents.
Erik Hallberg, President TeliaSonera International Carrier says “Dual stack IPv6 was enabled in TeliaSonera International Carrier’s AS1299’s core network in 2009. Roll-out to remaining POP’s continues and is already 88%. Our next step is the upgrade of our DNS service to fully support IPv6 by 1st June 2011.”
Already one third of TeliaSonera International Carrier IP customers use our dual-stack enabled IPv4 and IPv6 protocol sessions carried over the same port. This is achieved by a simple configuration rather than network design change. That makes deployment, troubleshooting, and management of IPv6 sessions straightforward.
