Intercity Zakelijk calls on TelecityGroup

Leading Dutch telecoms service provider outsources to TelecityGroup Amsterdam data centre to support business growth

Intercity Zakelijk, a leading business telecoms service provider in the Netherlands, has outsourced its IT infrastructure to Europe’s leading provider of premium network independent data centres, TelecityGroup. The move will enable Intercity Zakelijk to ensure it can respond quickly to customer demands during the company’s continued expansion.

Intercity Zakelijk was founded in the United Kingdom in 1986 by entrepreneur Alan Jackson, and opened its Netherlands office in 1994. It has since become one of the leading telephony specialists for the business market, employing over 100 staff in the Netherlands alone.

With 60,000 connections, Intercity Zakelijk’s business continues to grow and as a result the company needs to ensure its network has the resilience and reliability to meet modern enterprise demands. The 24/7 availability of data and guaranteed uptime has become so crucial in today’s digital economy that Intercity Zakelijk decided its hardware can no longer be housed in its in-house data centre if it is to provide the best possible service to its customers.

Tony Rijkers, Chief Operating Officer, Intercity Zakelijk, says partnering with TelecityGroup was an easy choice: “From the start, it was clear that TelecityGroup would be the perfect partner for us. Its premium carrier-neutral facilities offer unrivalled connectivity possibilities and they are able to guarantee excellent uptime. Additionally, its customer service team are specialists, and are able to move as quickly as required to meet our expanding requirements.”

Alexandra Schless, Country Manager, TelecityGroup Netherlands, says: “Our mission as a premium data centre provider is to ensure guaranteed availability of our customers’ infrastructure by providing optimum cooling, security and connectivity. To ensure this, we are committed to constant investment in our infrastructure to guarantee maximum uptime. We are therefore very pleased that Intercity Zakelijk, with its leading position as a business telecom service provider, has recognised our industry-leading expertise in this area and we look forward to supporting its continued growth.”
