VTLWaveNet Expands Network in France

Viatel Holding (Bermuda) Limited (“VHB”) has today announced the expansion of its DWDM network in Europe.  Following the sale of its Retail division in 2010, Viatel has further invested in the VTLWaveNet network, extending its capabilities to provide wavelength services from Paris to Marseille via Lyon, and from Lyon to Geneva.

Additionally, three new points of presence (POPs) have been connected to the VTLWaveNet network in Geneva (Cern, Equinix GV1, and Equinix GV2 International Business Exchange™ data center).

Lucy Woods, CEO at VTLWaveNet, believes that it is the company’s commitment to improving its network coverage, both from a long-haul as well as a metro perspective, that allows it to provide solutions that help its customers meet their requirements both now and in the future, “We are continuing to invest in our network to meet growing customer demand for high bandwidth services across Europe”.

Woods continued “We now have more than 100 POPs across Europe and continue to add POPs on a monthly basis. With our DWDM expansion down to Marseille we are able to address the growing demand from the Middle East, Africa and Asia to connect to the main Internet Exchanges and Data Centres in Europe.”

ABOUT VTLWaveNet
