Cisco Launches First Product Manufactured in Russia

VPN Blade Supports Need for Reliable Communications

SAN JOSE Calif., and MOSCOW, April 4, 2011 – Cisco today announced its first product manufactured in Russia.  The product, a virtual private network (VPN) hardware solution, will be manufactured for Cisco under license using a high-technology, multitiered supply chain of local Russian partners. Today’s announcement is part of the multiyear commitment Cisco made last June to support Russia’s technology innovation agenda.

The Cisco VPN hardware solution helps customers protect confidential information, personal data, financial transactions and other types of data. Together with Cisco routers, this complete telecommunications solution can be used to build geographically distributed networks.

The VPN solution is available now from Russian partners across the whole country.
